Ford Tabs Iraq as the Latest Major Car Market

As global car markets are continuously shifting, it's important for automakers like Ford to stay ahead and become involved in these new areas that have an increased demand for cars. Already, we're seeing in countries like China, India, and Russia where the desire for vehicles has reached unprecedented highs, and several manufacturers are making inroads in the emerging nations. Ford believes it's found the next major car market, and will begin to make an investment in Iraq.

Believing the Middle Eastern nation has huge potential, Ford seeks to bring a lineup of new Ford models to the area, which is now experiencing much more stability. With the more favorable environment, Iraqis are finding themselves in the market for a new car, but are realizing the options are few and far between.  That's where Ford looks to help. With a popular model like the Ford Fusion, the American automaker can create more availability, and demand providing a wider selection of vehicles for Iraqis to choose from.

The demand is expected to stretch even to those who already own a car in Iraq. Many models currently in the nation are nearly 30 years old, and were brought to the country as a result of an oil trade with Brazil in the 1980s. Just think about all the Ford service or Ford parts those drivers could have used with cars that old, and likely racking up a ton of miles in the process.
