That will signal systems like MyFord Touch and SYNC to hold back on delivering any non-urgent information, not interrupting drivers until they've successfully gotten themselves out of a driving situation that requires their utmost attention.

Of course, all of this is in the early stages of development, but the prospect of giving us all another safety feature to equip models like the 2013 Ford Edge is never a bad thing. Whatever happens, we're sure this yet to be named 'do not disturb' technology will be just as helpful as the infotainment systems are when it comes to navigation and music streaming.
